Toby manipulates his trust over people he knows to become cool.
When Toby meets other people that he believes to be 'cool' be violates his own fragile ethics to try to get in to be on the 'inside' with those people.
Without creating an identity for himself, Toby now bases lying, stealing, and harassing others off of it.
Toby, Taylor, and Silver steal and manipulate others to hide the fact that they are indeed uncool.
Toby makes new friends, but they are bad influences on him and have big effects on his later life.
Toby finally meets some people in his life that he considers as friends, however, he has never had any friends before so he ends up with the wrong group of kids who are desprate to be cool and will do anything to be cool.
Toby has yet to recognize his own face, so he lies, steals, and harasses people because he believes it is the only way he will fit in and finally be somebody.
