Geoffrey has now replaced the position of Rosemary to taking care of Toby because he believes more in Toby’s future than his own mother does.

Geoffrey tries to assist Toby in his change to a better person by suggesting school, but this just gives Toby another chance to destroy his image of himself to other people by lying on the acceptance letters.

While Toby describes acing his tests, participating on the swim team, and his integrity to friends and family, he starts to recognize that his attributes offer something to the school.

Toby is again trying to give himself a new identity while lieing to his brother, father, and different schools about school and himself.

Geoffrey is trying to change Toby's identity by giving him a chance with a new education, he does not know however, that Toby has been lying to him all along.

Geoffrey has come back into Toby's life, and is helping him to take control and become the driver, by helping him steer in a new direction.
